Timeline

In its more than 10 years of history, IDOR has played a pivotal role in major global challenges in healthcare and medical sciences. Scientific development has marked the Institute’s expansion and achievements in research, education and innovation.

2021

  • IDOR Global Program is launched aiming to strengthen international scientific partnerships.
  • IDOR carries out clinical trials to evaluate Sinovac vaccine efficacy against COVID-19 as part of a study led by Instituto Butantan.
  • IDOR carries out clinical trials to evaluate Clover Biopharmaceuticals’ vaccine efficacy against COVID-19.

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, IDOR and Zoox Smart Data partnered and launched Data for Good, an app dedicated to epidemiologic mapping and free testing.
  • IDOR opens research centers in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador dedicated to trial testing Oxford University’s COVID-19 vaccine.
  • IDOR’s Science against COVID-19 Plataform is launched.
  • IDOR’s Mental Health Portal is launched to provide free medical information on wellness and emotional balance.
  • BRACE CORONA project develops specific protocols to merge data on medical practices concerning the continued use of BRA and iECA to treat heart conditions derived from COVID-19.

  • IDOR receives the Visconde de Mauá Award in Healthcare Management by Rio de Janeiro’s Commercial Association (ACRio) for its leading improvement initiatives in the City of Rio de Janeiro’s healthcare system.
  • IDOR participates in a multi-institutional effort that established the causal correlation between the Zika virus and the increased incidence of microcephaly in Brazil, as published in Science.
  • IDOR’s study study on radiological abnormalities in fetuses infected by Zika virus featured as cover article in Radiology.

  • Software FRIEND is launched. This tool developed by IDOR can be used by any line of neurofeedback research that uses functional magnetic resonance imaging.

  • The CNA – Applied Neuropsychology Centre – is created, aiming at supplying neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents and adults.
